Now his candidacy must be confirmed by the full Senate.
The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has approved Keith Dayton as an ambassadorial nominee for Ukraine.
"Processing nominations continues to be a core responsibility of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and I am glad the committee approved another fifteen nominees this morning," U.S. Senator Jim Risch, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said after a committee business meeting on September 22, as reported on the Committee's website.
"I am especially pleased to be sending ambassadorial nominees for Japan and Ukraine to the full Senate for confirmation. These posts play a vital role in U.S. foreign policymaking, and I hope Mr. Weinstein and Mr. Dayton will be confirmed soon," the official said.
