The perpetrator was caught red-handed.
On March 25, operatives of the military prosecutor's office of the Southern region of Ukraine together with the agents of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, and security officers from the state-owned Ukroboronprom, the country's major arms manufacturer, detained CEO of Kharkiv Transport Equipment Plant state enterprise as he was trying to bribe a local prosecutor in Mykolaiv.
According to the military prosecutor's office of the Southern region of Ukraine, the corrupt official planned to arrange that a criminal case into the embezzlement be closed down.

The military prosecutor's office says investigative actions and searches are underway. The detainee is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offering or giving bribes).
