Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov has appealed to the SBU Security Service of Ukraine that they impose sanctions against the Ukrainian media that broadcast the "victory parade" from the occupied city of Donetsk titled "Broadcast from the DPR" [the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic"].

"Adequately repelling information aggression [propaganda] is a necessary and important element of our country defenses. That is why I wrote an official letter to the SBU regarding the investigation into the offense, and including in the sanctions list electronic media, which provided a live broadcast of the [Victory Day] celebration by Russia's occupation troops in Donetsk," he wrote on Facebook.

Turchynov says the move is, in fact, promotion of a terrorist organization.

In particular, the May 9 events in the so-called "DPR" were broadcast by the Ukrainian weekly news magazine Korrespondent.

"And this happens in response to the Russian information and propaganda aggression that is already threatening the whole democratic world. Taking into account that Ukraine is at the forefront of this war, we need to immediately implement best practices and experience in enforcing Ukrainian legislation," Turchinov said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian-led occupation forces held a "victory parade" in Donetsk, where they showcased military equipment, namely BTR-80 amphibious armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, T-64 and T-72 tanks, Strela-10 surface-to-air missile systems, Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, Grad MLRS, regimental mortars, Rapira anti-tank guns, and Masta-B owed howitzers.
