Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky district court has suspended Vladyslav Manger, who is suspected of organizing an assassination of Kherson activist and civil servant Kateryna Handziuk's, from the post of chairman of Kherson Regional Council for one month.
"The Shevchenkivsky district court has partially granted the petition of the prosecutor's office to suspend from office Chairman of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger, who is suspected of organizing Kherson activist Kateryna Handziuk's murder. According to the court's ruling, Manger shall be suspended for one month," PGO spokesperson Larysa Sargan wrote on Twitter.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on February 15, a court decided to arrest Manger until March 3, simultaneously setting UAH 2.5 million bail (about US$92,000). Manger was bailed out later the same day.

The Prosecutor General's Office appealed against the court's ruling.

After suffering burns to more than 35% of her body and undergoing 11 surgeries in Kyiv, Handziuk died on November 4, 2018.
Six suspects were detained for her murder, one of whom, Mykola Novikov, was later released from custody as charges against him were dropped. The alleged participant in the assassination, Serhiy Torbin, and Mykyta Hrabchuk, another suspect in the case, are in custody. Three other suspects – Vyacheslav Vishnevsky, Volodymyr Vasyanovych, and Viktor Horbunov – were placed under house arrest.
On November 5, Ukrainian media reported that Torbin had allegedly received a reward for the attack on Handziuk from Ihor Pavlovsky, an aide to MP Mykola Palamarchuk (BPP). Palamarchuk in turn dismissed any allegations of his possible involvement in the assassination attempt. He also said he had dismissed his aide Pavlovsky.
On November 12, a court ruled to detain Pavlovsky. According to the SBU Security Service, he is suspected of complicity in the Handziuk murder.
Chief Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko announced on December 3 that the investigators had identified all the individuals who had ordered the assassination. He also named Oleksiy Levin (his real second name is Moskalenko) who later was placed on the international wanted list on December 10, 2018, on suspicion of involvement in the Handziuk assassination.
On January 31, 2019, Chairman of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger said he was suspending membership in Yulia Tymoshenko's Batkivshchyna Party pending the investigation of the Handziuk murder amid allegations he had orchestrated the crime.
On February 11, Manger was served with charged with organizing Kateryna Handziuk's murder.
