FC Shakhtar has signed a contract with the Portuguese coach, Luis Castro.
The agreement with the 57-year-old specialist entered into force on June 12 and is effective for two years, the football club said on its official website.
Luis Manuel Ribeiro de Castro, born in Mondroes, Portugal, on September 3, 1961, will be the 33rd coach in the history of Shakhtar.

His player career includes: Uniao Leiria (1978-1985), Vieirense (1981-82), Vitoria Guimaraes (1985-1987), Elvas (1987-1990), Fafe (1989-90), Agueda (1990-1997).
His coaching career includes: Agueda (1998-2000), Mealhada (2000-01), Estarreja (2001-2003), Sanjoanense (2003-04), Penafiel (2004-2006), Porto Academy ( 2006-2013), Porto B (2013-2014), Porto (March-June 2014), Porto B (2014-2016), Rio Ave (2016-2017), Chaves (2017-2018), Vitoria Guimaraes (2018-2019).
Shakhtar's former coach, Paulo Fonseca, who trained the team for three years, was named Roma head coach on a two-year deal.
