The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) of Ukraine has said that the decisions were taken only on 23 out of 86 cases submitted by the NABU and the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) to court, while just 17 verdicts entered into legal force, the NABU's press service told UNIAN.
Most of the convictions follow guilty pleas.
The agency recalled that on September 1, the verdict against Alikhman Ahmedov, who acted as an intermediary when a judge of the Sievierodonetsk town court in Luhansk region received a bribe, entered into legal force.
"Among the highest-profile cases, in which pre-trial investigation has been completed, the case is worth noting related to the embezzlement at state-owned enterprises such as PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia, SE Plant Electrotyazhmash, PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, PJSC Odesa Port Plant," the report says.

The agency says that among the main reasons for "delaying" consideration are problems with determining jurisdiction, overloading or vacations of judges, failure of defense teams to attend hearings, etc.
