Over 60% of Ukrainians predict rise in new COVID-19 cases in Ukraine soon – poll

Only 18% of respondents believe the epidemic in Ukraine is over.

Over 60% of Ukrainian citizens predict the number of new COVID-19 cases in the country may grow soon.

In particular, 63% of respondents say Ukraine has not yet coped with the epidemic and the number of new patients will grow soon, according to a survey conducted by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

However, 18% of respondents believe the epidemic in Ukraine is over and there will be fewer new patients soon.

Some 19% of respondents have found it difficult to answer the question.

The survey was conducted on June 20-23 through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) using a random selection of cell numbers. The sample is representative of the adult population (aged 18 and older). The survey was conducted in settlements across Ukraine with the exception of Russia-occupied Crimea and certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The study involved 2,000 respondents.

The margin of error does not exceed 2.2% for indicators close to 50%, 2.1% for indicators close to 25%, and 1.4% for indicators close to 10%.
