Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has instructed Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv to address the issue of wage arrears at the shipyards of state-run concern Ukroboronprom within a week and take steps to repay the debts, according to the governmental press service.
The arrears in the payment of wages in Ukraine in August 2017 decreased by 6% compared to July, amounting to UAH 2.37 billion, the State Statistics Service reported.
Ukrainian households' debts for centralized heating and hot water supplies fell by 3.5% in June 2017 from May 2017, to UAH 8.6 billion, or US$333 million, according to Ukraine's State Statistics Service.
Ukrainian households' debts for gas supplies almost doubled in May 2017, to UAH 11.3 billion (US$434 million) from April 2017, according to Ukraine's State Statistics Service.
Chairman of Donetsk Military and Civilian Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky says that electricity arrears of the occupied areas in Donetsk region are estimated at UAH 3.9 billion, or US$150 million, with the total debt of the region owed to Ukraine being UAH 5.6 billion, or $215 million.
