Militants shell ATO forces from banned weapons 32 times on May 6

"From midnight to 1800 on May 6, the situation in the anti-terrorist operation zone remained tense. Despite the Minsk agreements, terrorists continue firing on our positions from the banned types of weapons. Over the period under review, illegal armed groups violated the truce 32 times," the press center said.

The village of Shyrokyne remains the hot spot in the Mariupol sector, the General Staff said. The enemy actively uses a wide range of weapons, including 152mm-caliber ones.

In the Donetsk sector, militants shelled ATO forces near the village of Hranitne and the Butivka coalmine from mortars. Ukrainian troops near the village of Pisky [close to the destroyed Donetsk airport] and the town of Avdiyivka were shelled from large-caliber machine guns and small arms.

Ukrainian positions in Luhansk region were widely attacked by the enemy near the town of Schastia, who used mainly automatic grenade launchers and small arms.

"During one of the attacks on our positions near the village of Leninske, terrorists hit the residential area, having wounded a man. He was given first aid by our soldiers and sent to hospital," the press center said.
