The combined Russian-separatist forces again launched provocation by shelling the militant-held town of Horlivka in Donetsk region at about 19:30 local time on Wednesday, July 22, local news portal 62.ua wrote with reference to local residents' reports on social networking websites.
"Shells are hitting the Komsomolets residential district, Hlyboka [a Horlivka-incorporated settlement near Gagarin coal mine]… A couple of tanks are crawling near school No. 9 close to the Rtutny district [near the closed Mykytivsky mercury plant] and are firing in the direction of the town," the reports said.
What is more, Russian-backed militants deployed in dry open-pit sand mines are firing self-propelled artillery systems. "[Shells are] heading for either the village of Novoluhanske or the town of Svitlodarsk [Artemivsk district, Donetsk region]," the locals wrote, according to 62.ua.
