The Ukrainian Marine Corps will replace fighters from the Donbas Battalion of the National Guard, who are now leaving their positions in the village of Shyrokyne, according to TSN correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko.
"The soldiers with military equipment are leaving the village. The marine corps will replace the Donbas Battalion fighters," he said.
The Anti-Terrorist Operation's headquarters says that the withdrawal of volunteer battalions from the front line is a planned force rotation.
As UNIAN reported earlier, former Donbas Battalion commander, MP from the Samopomich party Semen Semenchenko said that the fighters from the Donbas Battalion had received an excerpt from a classified order to withdraw their units stationed near the village of Shyrokyne, close to the Ukrainian-controlled city of Mariupol in Donetsk region.
The "Mariupol is Ukraine" campaign of indefinite duration in protest against the demilitarization of Shyrokyne and the withdrawal of volunteer battalions from the front line began in Mariupol on July 26.
