Russian proxies were shelling in the direction of the Ukrainian-controlled city of Mariupol on the night of August 17, namely on the village of Sartana, press officer of the sector "M" of the ATO forces Yaroslav Chepurniy said on Monday, according to Ukrainian online newspaper Novosti Donbasa.
According to the updated information, at least two people were killed and another six injured in the shelling, the Donetsk regional police reported.
As of 03:00 Kyiv time, 52 houses were found damaged, including five houses with a direct hit.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the combined Russian-separatist forces were firing self-propelled artillery on the villages of Lebedynske and Sartana near the strategic government-controlled port city of Mariupol. At night, it was reported that two civilians had been injured, including a child.
