Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov has refused to comment on the situation in the Russian-occupied city of Luhansk and the presence of armed people in the city center, according to an UNIAN correspondent in Russia.
"We're aware [of the situation], but I will not comment now. I just do not have detailed information and it would be wrong to provide incomplete assessments. I will refrain [now], but I will certainly share the information as soon as it has been verified," Peskov told journalists, answering a question whether the Kremlin was aware of what has been happening in Luhansk and who is behind the escalation.

"This is rather a question [to be addressed] to the 'republics,' but I again will not comment on anything," Peskov said.
