The SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region compared with the previous reporting period.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine has reported 240 explosions of 122mm BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems in Donetsk region, which were recorded on the evening of February 7.
"On the evening of February 7, while in Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk), the SMM heard and saw 60 explosions assessed as outgoing rounds of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) (BM-21 Grad, 122mm) 5-7km north-east, 180 explosions assessed as impacts of MLRS (BM-21) 5-7km south-east, about 180 explosions (150 assessed as impacts of artillery rounds," the OSCE SMM said in an update based on information received as of 19:30 on February 8, 2018.

In particular, ceasefire violations were recorded at the Donetsk Filtration Station (15km north of the Russian-occupied city of Donetsk), the village of Shyrokyne (20km east of the Ukrainian-controlled strategic port city of Mariupol), at the Oktiabr mine (non-government-controlled, 9km north-west of Donetsk city center), in Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk), Yasynuvata (non-government-controlled, 16km north-east of Donetsk), Horlivka (non-government-controlled, 39km north-east of Donetsk), and Oleksandropil (government-controlled, 43km north of Donetsk).
Meanwhile, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations in Luhansk region and no explosions compared with the previous reporting period (about 1,740 explosions).
