Two-thirds of Russians spend less money on foods in recent months

Two-thirds of Russians have started spending less money on foodstuffs in recent months. Now they choose less expensive brands, having given up some types of products at all, according to findings of the FOM Fond Obshchestvennoye Mnenie (Public Opinion Foundation).

Every ninth started less frequently going shopping to buy food, Russia's radio station Echo of Moscow reported with reference to the FOM.

In the last six months, almost half of Russian citizens started spending much less money on non-foods and services. In particular, the quarter of the polled started buying fewer clothes and shoes. Furthermore, they do not go so often to a cafe and have begun economizing on travelling.
