The second round of presidential elections took place on November 15.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated former Moldovan Prime Minister Maia Sandu on the victory at the presidential elections in that country.
"Congratulations to Maia Sandu on winning the presidential elections in Moldova. I look forward to further strengthening relations between Ukraine and Moldova for the European future of our nations," he wrote on Twitter on November 16, 2020.
Later, Zelensky said he had already held a phone talk with Sandu, during which he invited her to pay an official visit to Ukraine.
"I started the morning with a good phone talk with Maia Sandu. I congratulated her on her victory in the presidential elections in Moldova. I am confident in further strengthening relations between Ukraine and Moldova and the European integration of our peoples. I look forward to my colleague's visit to Kyiv," Zelensky tweeted.
