Ukrainian journalists name richest lawmakers in Ukraine

The rating is based on the Ukrainian parliamentarians' electronic declarations of assets.

Member of Parliament from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction Oleksandr Urbansky, who declared UAH 2.48 billion, or US$94.4 million, in income tops journalists' rating of the richest lawmakers in Ukraine.

The rating is based on the Ukrainian parliamentarians' money savings at banks, cash, loans and cryptocurrency mentioned in their electronic declarations of assets, the Novoye Vremya weekly reported.

Ukrainian MP Dmytro Golubov (from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction) with UAH 2.07 billion ($78.8 million) ranked second. He is followed by Ihor Kotvitsky from the People's Front parliamentary faction with UAH 0.77 billion ($29.3 million), Vitaliy Khomutynnik from the Vidrodzhennia parliamentary group with UAH 0.55 billion ($20.9 million) and Viacheslav Boguslayev from the People's Will faction with UAH 0.52 billion ($19.8 million).

As UNIAN reported earlier, a study of Ukrainian officials' asset declarations conducted by Opendatabot revealed that 57 officials had over the past two years declared over 21,000 bitcoins (BTC) as intangible assets with the majority of cryptocurrency holders being members of the Odesa regional council and the country's Parliament.
