The Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday partially unblocked the work of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, which had been paralyzed because of a court ruling suspending acting minister Ulana Suprun from performing functions of the ministry head.

To ensure the continuity of the ministry's work, on February 13, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted an order that allows the acting minister, Doctor Ulana Suprun, to fulfill the duties of the ministry chief, except for the exclusive powers of a minister as member of government, determined by the Cabinet of Ministers resolution of July 17, 2003, No. 1096.

“This order is a consolidated government decision that allows unlocking the most critical issues of the work of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This exceptional step by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is a response to the fact that the work of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was blocked by a ruling of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv," the report says.

The government’s order allows approving distribution of vaccines and medicines across the regions, sending 44 Ukrainians for treatment abroad, continuing the process of construction at the Okhmatdet Children's Hospital, and purchasing equipment, as well as other solutions that require immediate approval.

These documents will be signed shortly.

At the same time, it is recalled that the District Administrative Court of Kyiv has not yet made a decision on the motion to repeal the ban imposed on Suprun to perform the duties of the Minister of Health of Ukraine.
