"Our exports are at a certain level, we are selling goods to China. But [shipments of] most of the goods – [vegetable] oil and other food products – will not be affected," he said on ICTV, as reported by the Novoye Vremya news outlet on February 25.

The ministry is monitoring the situation, while exports of goods from Ukraine to China are ongoing despite the spread of the disease there, he said.

Ukraine keeps purchasing certain consumer goods from China, although in general, imports of such goods have declined.

"On the one hand, this may somehow affect the economy, but on the other hand, it allows Ukrainian businesses to enter this niche and develop. That is, this opens up opportunities," the official added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian Health Ministry assured the country's healthcare system was ready to handle patients with the coronavirus if such cases were confirmed in Ukraine.
