Crimea blackout: large enterprises suspend work, children out of school

The Crimean occupying authorities are developing measures to save energy in a state of emergency, introduced due to the termination of power supplies from mainland Ukraine, according to Russian news agency TASS.

Large industrial enterprises have suspended their work. Almost all of them are strategic enterprises and the largest taxpayers to the Crimean budget.

Schools sent children for an unscheduled vacation until November 30.

However, the objects of social importance are being supplied with electricity in full.

The four pylons belong to the power grids supplying electricity to Crimea and some areas in Ukraine's Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

After the incident, the Crimean occupying authorities reported about a total power blackout on the peninsula in the early hours of November 22. According to some reports, strategic facilities were switched to the independent power supply.

On November 24, national energy company Ukrenergo reported that a destroyed transmission tower in Kherson region had been repaired.
