Jaresko sees no significant factors for hryvnia fluctuations

There are no significant factors for the development of the economic situation in Ukraine, which would provoke noticeable exchange rate fluctuations, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has told the reporters on Friday.

"I see no significant new macro-economic factors to change [the exchange rate of] the hryvnia. But there are general factors," said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the hryvnia quotations against the U.S. dollar in mid-January have shifted to the downside - to UAH 24-25 / USD, while cash market and black market rates have reached UAH 26-27 / USD. To stabilize the rate, the regulator has tightened the currency purchase rules for businesses, as well as held the auctions on the interbank market, having sold $120 million worth of foreign currency.
