EU Court to consider claims of Yanukovych, his son on sanctions

European Court of Justice on April 29 is to consider the case of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and his son Oleksandr with respect to European Union sanctions imposed against them, Europeiska Pravda reported citing its source in the EU Court.

The cases of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and his son Oleksandr Viktorovich are to be heard at 09:30 on April 29, according to the newspaper's source.

The court may at any time decide to hold a hearing behind closed doors, as in the case of the former first deputy head of the presidential administration Andriy Portnov.

No decision will be issued in the case today as the court will only hear the positions of the parties.

The EU Court also started hearings in the case into sanctions against Yanukovych ally, former deputy of the Verkhovna Serhiy Klyuiev.

As reported, on October 26, 2015, The General Court in Luxembourg sets aside the freeze by the EU Council on the funds of Andriy Portnov, one-time adviser to the ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
