Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods estimated at almost $700 mln in H1

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in the first half of 2016 was estimated at $682.6 million against a $351.1 million surplus registered in the same period of 2015, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Goods exports from Ukraine in January-June 2016 fell year-over-year by 10.7%, to $16.623 billion, while goods imports dropped by 5.3%, to $17.306 billion.

The ratio of coverage of imports by exports was 0.96 (it was 1.02 in January-June 2015).

Ukraine traded with partners from 214 countries and regions.

Goods imports from the EU rose by 2.8%, to $7.672 billion and accounted for 44.3% of overall imports.

The statistics service said its report did not include information from temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, Sevastopol and Donbas.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in January-May 2016 was $694 million, whereas it was a $128.1 million surplus in trade in goods in the first five months of 2015.
