Ukraine ranks 42nd in 2017 Bloomberg Innovation Index

Ukraine ranked 42nd out of 50 countries in the world ranking of innovative economies, compiled by Bloomberg analytical service.

Comparing with the previous year, Ukraine worsened its position by 1 point. In 2016, our country ranked 41st.

The ranking began with over 200 economies, from which those that didn't report data for at least six of seven categories measured were eliminated, trimming the list to 78. Bloomberg released overall and category scores for the top 50 innovative economies.

At the same time, in terms of the proportion of graduates in the labor market, Ukraine entered the top five, finishing 4th in the subgroup of the overall ranking.

South Korea remained the big winner, topping the international charts in R&D intensity, value-added manufacturing and patent activity and with top-five rankings in high-tech density, higher education and researcher concentration.
