EU plans to allocate EUR 50 mln to restore Donbas

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn during his visit to the village of Shyrokyne in Donetsk region said the European Union was considering the allocation of EUR 50 million for the implementation of humanitarian and infrastructure projects in Donbas, according to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"We highly appreciate the assistance of the European Union in the restoration of damaged infrastructure facilities in Donbas. It is undoubtedly an invaluable contribution to the solution of the humanitarian problems of local residents affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation," said Ukraine's humanitarian envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbas settlement Iryna Gerashchenko.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Trump had approved the consolidated budget providing for a $560 million aid for Ukraine.
