Strategic enterprises in Ukraine not affected by cyber attacks – government press service

Almost 150 strategically important and security sensitive enterprises in Ukraine, including nuclear power plants, have not been affected by recent cyber attacks caused by ransomware dubbed Petya.A, according to the Ukrainian government's press service.

"Almost 150 enterprises that are strategically important to the country's economy whose networks are connected and controlled by specialists of the State Service of Special Communication (SSSC), including nuclear power plants and enterprises related to ensuring the security of the state, have not suffered," the government said.

At the same time, the Cabinet said that efforts were under way to isolate cyber attacks.

As UNIAN reported, the largest hacker attack spreading the Petya.A ransomware that blocks computer systems on June 27 affected Ukrainian banks, energy companies, state-owned Internet resources and local networks, Ukrainian media and a number of other large enterprises.
