Klimkin on supply of Siemens turbines to Crimea: "cons" will never become partners

"The Kremlin regime is now frankly laughing at how easy it is to fool money-greedy representatives of European law-abiding businesses, built on trust, respect, and values," reads the op-ed.

The minister notes that Ukraine has warned Siemens, the German Federal Government, and EU institutions of possible violations of the sanctions regime, as well as pointed to the gaps in it.

Klimkin noted that Ukraine would require that Siemens, the German government, and European institutions conduct a public investigation and prosecute all accomplices.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Siemens said it would halt its supplies to Russian companies amid the row with the turbines Russia had delivered to the occupied Crimea without the company’s consent.

On July 10, the concern said that at least two of the four turbines delivered by Russia's Technopromexport for the TPP in Russian mainland Taman had been moved to the occupied Crimea against the company’s will. Thus, the company will initiate a criminal investigation and file suits aimed at having the said turbines returned to Taman and putting a halt to deliveries to the occupied peninsula.
