Ukraine gov't allocates almost US$586 mln to hospitals for treating COVID-19 patients – health minister

The offical assures that all medical institutions are provided with PCR tests.

Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says almost UAH 15.8 billion (US$586million) has been allocated to hospitals in Ukraine for treating COVID-19 (coronavirus) patients.

"In total, nearly UAH 15.8 billion has been allocated to medical institutions that treat patients with the novel COVID-19 coronavirus," he told an online briefing on May 2.

Moreover, some 867,000 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for COVID-19 have already been supplied to the country's regions, he added.

"We have no regions that would lack PCR tests," the health minister added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the Public Health Center, there were 11,411 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on May 2. Of them, 279 were lethal cases, 1,498 patients have recovered. Some 550 new cases were recorded in the past day.
