Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has said Ukraine has so far managed to avoid the peak incidence of COVID-19.

"It is very important for us to avoid the peak. So far we are succeeding, including through quarantine measures – we see a break in this chain of disease transmission, which became possible thanks to quarantine," he said during an online briefing, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

"If we continue to listen to expert recommendations..., I'm sure we will be able to avoid the peak incidence of COVID-19, where our healthcare system won't be able to treat a huge number of patients," Stepanov said.
