Shopping malls in Kyiv to resume work after subway reopening – Klitschko

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said shopping malls in the capital city of Kyiv will resume work after the reopening of Kyiv subway.

"Large shopping malls should be opened after the resumption of subway. We need to understand people get to work by public transport, including in large shopping malls. Business owners in these malls also understand this," he told a Ukrainian TV channel, according to the mayor's press service.

According to Klitschko, the reopening of shopping malls will also take place with a decrease in the number of COVID-19 patients and the observance of strict safety rules by the owners and visitors of shopping malls.

"We will take into account the dynamics of the spread of the disease. If the epidemic situation does not worsen, the reopening of shopping malls will be the next step in easing restrictions. I hope this will happen by late May and we will open both the subway and such malls," the mayor added.
