New chairman appointed at Ukrzaliznytsia railway operator's board

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Volodymyr Zhmak Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian national railways company PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

The government passed the decision at a meeting on August 26, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

On August 14, Ukrzaliznytsia's Supervisory Board voted to appoint Zhmak Chairman of the Board.

Volodymyr Zhmak: background

In 2005, Zhmak was appointed an advisor to the President of Kyivstar mobile operator, responsible for the development of new business areas. In 2011, he became the executive director at the Russian-British TNK-BP Commerce. A year later, he was appointed the company's president and CEO. After the company's merger with Rosneft, he became president of RN-Ukraine.
