Poroshenko approves program of cooperation with NATO for 2016

President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to approve the national program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO for 2016, according to the president’s website.

"The program has to ensure coordinated comprehensive development of cooperation between Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in all areas of interaction of our country with the Alliance," the document says.

It is noted that the program defines the general political goals of Ukraine's partnership with NATO and the areas of cooperation with the Organization in the field of international security (international peacekeeping operations, anti-terrorism, arms control, environmental safety).

In addition, the program displays the key steps in the implementation of the country’s political, economic, and social reforms, the main elements of policy in the field of national security and defense.
