European Union Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vygaudas Usackas says the EU does not link the possible deployment of UN peacekeepers in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, and gradual measures to roll back sanctions against Russia, according to the Russian daily Kommersant.
"The European Union has no such position [to gradually lift anti-Russian sanctions if the peacekeepers are deployed in Donbas]," the diplomat told Kommersant in an interview.
At the same time, Usackas noted, the European Union wants to see progress in the normalization of the situation in Donbas.
