First Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland Piotr Glinski has said the two countries found mutual understanding with respect to the education law in Ukraine in terms of languages of national minorities, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
Speaking at a briefing in Kyiv, he said that a mutual understanding – the statement of the heads of educational departments was reached on Monday after last week's very fruitful visit of Minister of National Education of Poland Anna Zalewska to Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 17, the Ukrainian Education Minister Lilia Hrynevych and her Polish counterpart Anna Zalewska said a declaration would be signed on guarantees to representatives of the Polish minority to receive a full general secondary education in Polish schools in Ukraine in their native language with a consistent increase in the proportion of subjects taught in the Ukrainian language.

The new law says Ukrainian shall be the language of instruction in all schools.
President Poroshenko instructed that the foreign ministry and ministry of education carry out necessary consultations with Ukraine's European partners, including with the Council of Europe.
On September 2, Klimkin submitted Article 7 of the new law on education (concerning languages in schools) for the assessment by Venice Commission.
Its opinion will be handed down by December.
