Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak, who decided to run for the presidency in Russia, and whose words about Ukrainian Crimea had previously caused a wide response, suggested holding a new referendum on the peninsula.
"Russia has violated its international obligations and this is the main starting point. People live in Crimea. We cannot treat them as geopolitical subjects. I see a way out of the situation through a new independent referendum that implies different points of view," Sobchak said, according to RIA Novosti.
"You cannot call a referendum what happened there," she added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak, the daughter of Vladimir Putin's political mentor and the late St. Petersburg Mayor Anatoly Sobchak, said that Crimea belongs to Ukraine under international law.
