A group of Ukrainian doctors arrived in the city of Krasnodar of the Russian Federation to check on the health condition of an illegally detained 19-year-old Pavlo Hryb, Acting Health Minister Dr. Ulana Suprun wrote on Facebook.
The minister has stressed that the 19-year-old Ukrainian citizen suffers from a serious congenital disease and needs daily specific treatment, and there is a direct threat to his life if the relevant medical treatment is not provided.
"Due to unsatisfactory state of Hryb's health and the lack of his access to necessary medications, Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to the Russian side with a request to allow Ukrainian doctors to examine the detainee," Suprun said.
According to her, despite numerous appeals by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don and position of the European Court of Human Rights on the need to allow access of Ukrainian doctors to the detained teenager, no agreement has yet been reached with the Russian side.

The Ministry of Health is in constant contact with doctors, and will inform about the further development of the situation, Suprun said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, a member of the State Border Guard Service's public council, Ihor Hryb, said on August 28 his 19-year-old son, Pavlo Hryb, was missing.
Pavlo reportedly disappeared in Belarus on August 24 after he had traveled to the city of Gomel for a meeting with a Russian girl whom he met on social networks and who had allegedly also flown to Gomel.

"I hope that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Health and the Ombudsperson will do everything to ensure that our doctors get to Pavlo Hryb as soon as possible, while Russia will not dare violate the direct instruction by the ECHR and refuse their access to Pavlo," the lawyer said.
The case of Pavlo Hryb is being personally supervised by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
