USAF drones take a sneak peek into Donbas, Crimea

The United States Air Force's RQ-4A Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted approaching the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine on an apparent reconnaissance mission, 112 Ukraine TV channel reported referring to the data provided by the Flightradar24 service.

The UAV took off from an airbase on Sicily, flew over Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Odesa regions of Ukraine, 112 Ukraine wrote.

RQ-4A Global Hawk approached the line of demarcation in the zone of armed conflict in Donbas at a 16 km altitude but never crossed it into the airspace over the territory beyond Ukraine government control.

It is also reported that a day earlier, another American UAV, Lockheed EP-3 Aries II, flew on a recon mission off the coast of the illegally annexed Crimea.
