The public sector accounted for 11.1% of Ukraine's economy in 2016, while in the first quarter of 2017 (Q1 2017) its share was at 16.3%, according to the website of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) sold a 25% stake in Kyiv heat and power supplier PJSC Kyivenergo at a starting price of UAH 759.6 million, or US$29.8 million, at an auction, August 18, according to the sales online broadcast.
The cost of the minimum essential food basket (MEFB) in Ukraine for the able-bodied citizens has dropped by 9% in July 2017 for the first time since the beginning of the year, to UAH 1,441, or US$56.2, which accounted for 84% of the subsistence level for this population category, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's website referring to NGO Economic Discussion Club.
