Confirmed coronavirus cases in the world surpassed the 2.7-million mark as of the morning of April 24.

As many as 2,709,483 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 09:31 on April 24, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 190,872 people, while 742,855 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The three countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (869,172 confirmed cases), Spain (213,024), and Italy (189,973).

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (49,963 people), Italy (25,549), Spain (22,157), and France (21,856).
