The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 2.6 million patients as of the morning of April 23.

As many as 2,629,801 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 08:31 on April 23, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 183,454 people, while 713,537 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The three countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (842,629 confirmed cases), Spain (208,389), and Italy (187,327).

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (46,784 people), Italy (25,085), Spain (21,717), and France (21,340).
