The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 10.6 million patients as of the morning of July 2.

As many as 10,694,288 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 08:33 on July 2, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 516,210 people, while 5,480,394 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (128,062 people), Brazil (60,632), the United Kingdom (43,991), Italy (34,788), France (29,864), and Mexico (28,510).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (2,686,480 confirmed cases), Brazil (1,448,753), Russia (653,479), India (604,641), the United Kingdom (314,992), Peru (288,477), Chile (282,043), Spain (249,659), Italy (240,760), Mexico (231,770), Iran (230,211), and Pakistan (217,809).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
