Russian President Vladimir Putin has brought the Central Military District, airborne troops and military transport aircraft to full combat readiness in the framework of a snap inspection, Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry in the National Center for Control of Defense, according to an UNIAN correspondent in Russia.
"In accordance with his [Putin's] order, the district troops, part of the air forces of other military districts, airborne troops and military transport aircraft have been put in full combat readiness from 09:30 Moscow time," Shoigu said.
According to Shoigu, Putin has set the task to carry out a snap inspection of the Central Military District.
Shoigu said that during the first day, temporary regulations are to be checked, as well as the ability of troops to carry out activities within the established degree of combat readiness.

"It is also necessary to work out issues of inter-agency planning, organization of interaction, practical implementation of tasks of mobilization and territorial defense along with the federal executive bodies," he said.
A snap inspection will be held from September 7 to September 12.
