Russia launches unscheduled inspection of strategic missile troops’ combat readiness
Commission of the Strategic Missile Forces Command announced an unscheduled inspection of combat readiness of the Irkutsk missile formation, as reported in the press service of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.
"In the course of the unscheduled inspection, the formation command was examined, two missile regiments equipped with land-based mobile missile system Topol and several other divisions of the formation," according to the statement.
Special attention during the inspection is paid to fulfillment of tasks related to operational readiness training, alarm calls and withdrawal of missile regiments and divisions.
In addition, it was reported that during the inspection, operations on countering the attack of the opposing forces and simulated missile launch had been carried out.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in March, the number of personnel involved in the military exercises in Russia was brought up to 80,000 people, involving 220 aircraft.
