Russia deployed a new division of S-400 surface-to-air missiles in Crimea on Saturday, Russian news agencies reported, in an escalation of military tensions on the Crimean peninsula, according to Reuters.
The Russian Federation will deploy in the illegally-annexed Crimea its S-400 Triumph missile systems for "protection against aerial threats from Ukraine," RIA Novosti reported citing its sources.
Reports from Ankara say Russia and Turkey have signed a deal under which Russia will supply its S-400 surface-to-air missile systems to Turkey, according to Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
