The surplus of Ukraine's national budget in January-September 2017 was estimated at UAH 15 billion, or US$558 million, against a deficit at UAH 63.4 billion, or $2.4 billion, year-over-year (y-o-y), according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The Office of the National Investment Council under the President of Ukraine reports that about 94% of state-owned assets belong to only 46 state-run companies, while in total there are 3,500 state-owned enterprises in the country.
Ukrainian state-owned companies' net profit in 2016 totaled UAH 39.6 billion (US$1.5 billion), while the aggregate value of state assets was estimated at UAH 1.6 trillion ($61 billion), according to the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry's website.
