Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has enacted a decision taken by the National Security and Defense Council on December 26, 2018, to introduce main indicators of the state defense order for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021.

"To enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of December 26, 2018, 'On the main indicators of the state defense order for 2019 and 2020, 2021' (attached, classified)," according to presidential decree No. 10/2019 published on the president's official website.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov is authorized to control the implementation of the decision.

As UNIAN reported earlier, expenses on the purchase of weapons and military equipment as part of the state defense order in 2019 may grow to UAH 25 billion (US$892.2 million), although the current amount is planned to total UAH 21 billion (US$749.4 million) as in 2018.
