President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says that the revenue of the local budget in Ukraine is expected to reach UAH 171 billion (US$6.3 billion) by the end of 2017, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says the draft national budget for 2018 foresees further decentralization with the transfer of finance and powers from the central government authorities to the local ones.
In January-July 2017, the total fund of local budgets received UAH 102.8 billion, according to Hennady Zubko, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of regional development, construction, housing and communal services.
Thanks to Ukraine's decentralization reform, local budgets' revenue soared by 34.3% in January-May 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 72.3 billion, or US$2.8 billion, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing.
The inflow of UAH 100 billion to local budgets in 2014-2016 is one of the topmost results of decentralization, one of Ukraine's key reforms, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said at a meeting with representatives of regional mass media Friday, the Cabinet's press service reports.
