Meat production in Ukraine in January-December 2017 totaled 3.26 million tonnes (live weight), which was 0.4% down year-over-year, according to State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine says the introduction of the updated standard on milk purchases from households is postponed until July 2018.
Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry forecasts that the production of milk and dairy foods in Ukraine in 2017 will be about 10.1 million tonnes, which will be 2.9% down on 2016, according to Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry for European integration Olha Trofimtseva.
The cost of the minimum essential food basket (MEFB) in Ukraine for the able-bodied citizens has dropped by 9% in July 2017 for the first time since the beginning of the year, to UAH 1,441, or US$56.2, which accounted for 84% of the subsistence level for this population category, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's website referring to NGO Economic Discussion Club.
