The judges of the Illichivsk City Court in Odesa region are to announce the verdict for the accused in the case of the mass riots in Odesa on May 2, 2014, today, September 18, 2017, according to Espreso TV, referring to the court’s press service.
On the third anniversary of the tragic riots and fire in Odesa on May 2, 2014 which killed 48 people, both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the state-controlled Russian media have continued to push the propaganda line that this was a "massacre" by Ukrainian nationalists, reads the report by Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group (KHPG).
About 100 people gathered at the intersection of Deribasivska and Preobrazhenskaya Streets in Odesa, where pro-Russian separatists shot Andriy Biriukov and Ihor Ivanov, who became the first victims of mass riots on May 2, 2014, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
