The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has offered three options for the implementation of Article 7 of Law "On Education" regarding the language of instruction in Ukrainian educational facilities, which will be spelled out in law "On General Secondary Education."
Some 54% of Ukrainians oppose granting the Russian language official status, according to a poll conducted by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in cooperation with the Intellectual Prospects Charitable Foundation, presented at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
The Russian-backed self-proclaimed authorities of the "Donetsk People's Republic" ("DPR") have announced a complete transition from the Ukrainian language into Russian language in all educational institutions located in the militant-controlled areas of Donetsk region, "DPR leader" Alexander Zakharchenko said, according to one of the pro-militant online resources.
